About
Wrestling
Freestyle wrestling is an Olympic sport and one of the two styles of wrestling, characterized by the use of legs and upper body in attacks and defenses, originating from catch-as-catch-can.
There are 2 forms of wrestling, Freestyle & Greco Roman. We primarily train Freestyle at our gym, where we can use any type of technique to takedown our competitor's or training partners'. In Greco Roman wrestling you are not allowed to use techniques that attacks the leg to score points or pin you opponents.
Points awarded for throws, takedowns, and exposing an opponent's back. A win is achieved by scoring the most points, a "fall" by pinning the opponent's shoulders to the mat, or by demonstrating technical superiority.

In contrast to some other martial arts BJJ can be practiced both using a gi uniform or not which is known as 'no-gi BJJ'; for this purpose rash guards are used. BJJ can also be used as a method of promoting physical fitness, building character, and as a way of life.
